Description
Photograph of Winter canal in St Petersburg, Russia.
Winter Canal connects Neva River with Moika River in the vicinity of Winter Palace.
The Winter Canal is one of the most poetic corners of the "old St. Petersburg". It was described in Alexander Pushkin's famous "Queen of Spades", and until now is the place for romantic dates. This place is especially lovely when seen from the water - when you sail either along the Moika or along the Neva river in a boat and cast a look on the beautiful arch that frames the Winter Canal.

You have so many interesting photos in your gallery. I love this one! The textural contrasts really nice, and the sunlit building on the other side of the arch really sets it all off.

Elena, Your interesting filter and processing works so well for this shot. It gives the appearance of an etching, and is quite nice for the subject. voted
